What happens when I sign up? [top]
When you sign-up, you create an account and a profile. Your user account is what you use to log in and add information to any profile that you like. Your profile is where your friends add and rate information that is added about you. It is also the location that any views and searches that you receive are tracked. You want to promote your profile as much as possible in order to see who is interested in you and viewing your profile.

What is the difference between profiles and accounts? [top]
Profiles are similar to articles on Wikipedia in that your friends can add information to your profile. Profiles may be tracked by user accounts and users can upvote or downvote information added to profiles.

You control all information that is associated with your user account. User accounts are connected by friend requests and you can track profiles from your user account by adding them to your account's track list.

Your user account has a main newsfeed - by adding users as your friend, you are kept up to date via that newsfeed of any content that your friends add to profiles across the site. By tracking a profile, you are able to see updates that occur to that profile in your newsfeed, and if you opt into it, you can receive email updates whenever content is added to a profile that you track.

How is tracking a profile (track list) different from friending a user account (friend list)? [top]
Tracking a profile allows you to see updates that occur to that profile in your newsfeed and allows you to get email updates about that profile. You can control the frequency of these updates by clicking the Settings link, clicking Notifications, and then clicking Tracked Profiles. You will see the profiles that you track and can edit your preferences via the same interface that appears immediately after you add the profile to your track list.

Friending a user account allows you to see all activity of that user account in your newsfeed (except activity done anonymously). You can also see how popular you are in that user account's friend group by clicking View All on the user's account page and then selecting to order the list by Popular (once you are their friend).

How do I find more people that I know? [top]
You can find more people that you know on Socialprofile by using our Friend Finder feature. The friend finder will dramatically increase your profile's popularity and allow you to discover more people who view your profile.

How do I increase my popularity in my friends' or tracked profiles networks? [top]
You increase your popularity in your friends' networks and profiles by having more people that you know on Socialprofile who are interested in you.

You can find more people that you know (and would be interested in you) on Socialprofile by using the Friend Finder, and you should also be sure to share your profile, account, and content that you post with your friends on other social networks via the Share links we provide. This helps increase your popularity by increasing the number of people interested in you on Socialprofile. Having a picture on your account and also using your real name that your friends immediately recognize will dramatically increase your popularity also.

How does content make it to the top on a profile? [top]
Content increases its rankings on a profile by receiving more positive votes. Be sure to vote for content that you like and vote against content that you don't like in order to help the most accurate and appealing content about a person reach the front page of their profile. This helps the profile portray the most accurate and up-to-date content about people. You can see all content about a profile by clicking the View More link next to any content type on the main page of a profile.

What are the benefits of being friends with a user? [top]
Friends are able to see all activity of their friends in their main newsfeed. You can also see how popular you are in your friend's social network by being friends with them. Be sure to find more friends of yours who are on Socialprofile by using the Friend Finder.

What are the benefits of tracking a profile? [top]
By tracking a profile, you are able to get news items in your newsfeed about content that is added to that profile. If you opt into them, you also receive email updates whenever content is added to that profile. Lastly, you can see how popular your user account is in the social network of that profile by tracking the profile.

What are the benefits of being a Premium Member? [top]
There are a number of benefits of being a Premium Member. You can see the identity of users who have viewed your profile. You can see their location on a map when they viewed your profile and you can see their name and account if they were logged in when they viewed you. Otherwise, you can just see their location.

Lastly, you can see all secret messages that were sent to any of the profiles that you track.

How are people viewing my profile tracked?[top]
After you are a Premium Member and have shared your profile on other networks, Socialprofile will tracks views to your Socialprofile profile by recording the users who come to your profile on Socialprofile. Socialprofile stores the ips of your viewers in order to also provide you with the location that people viewed your profile from. This is done by ip-to-location technology which allows Socialprofile to triangulate the location of a view based on the ip address where that view originated from.

Before you are a Premium Member, Socialprofile provides only a demonstration of how it could look once you have subscribed. This demonstration does not use actual data and is just a demonstraction. You will have to subscribe, share your profile on other networks, and wait for users of these networks to click on links to your Socialprofile profile in order to see your profile's visitors.

How do I find out the identity of the person who has viewed my profile? [top]
You can see the actual identity of people searching for you or viewing your profile by going to your profile. On your profile's main page, click Profile Views to see the identities of the people who have been searching for you and viewing you. If the user was not logged in, then you will just be able to see their geo-location.

How do I change information on my account? [top]
You can change all information associated with your account by clicking on the Settings link in the header. Changing some of the information requires the entering in of a captcha code to prevent a hacker from logging in via an automated process and changing your information without your consent. This protects your account and gives you added security. Via the Settings page, you can manage almost all the information associated with your user account like, email, password, about me section, etc from this interface.

What is the Socialprofile download? [top]
The Socialprofile download will install a link on your desktop which will redirect to socialprofile.xyz when clicked. This will give you easy access to your account. Once you download Socialprofile, you will still need to pay in order to see your profile views. However, you can start sharing content on social networks immediately and Socialprofile will store your visitors for whenever you are ready to upgrade to a Premium Membership.

Which platforms does the Socialprofile download support? [top]
The Socialprofile download only works on Windows and it compatible with all browsers. You can still use Socialprofile without installing the Socialprofile download, but by installing, you will gain a quick link on your desktop to your account to stay updated on your new profile views.

How do I uninstall Socialprofile? [top]
Uninstall is easy and quick. Simply delete the location of the .exe you downloaded and delete the shortcut on your desktop. If you ever change your mind, you can come back to Socialprofile and download again.

How do I change information on a profile? [top]
You can add content to a profile by clicking the Add Content link on the profile's main page. Select the content type that you want on the right side of the navigation. If you would like to add content to the profile anonymously, just click the Anonymous checkbox when you add the content.

You can cause the rank of information to increase or decrease (making the content item reach the main page or bounce from there) by voting the content up or down. Content with high votes makes it to the main page, whereas content that gets out-voted drifts to the bottom to languish in obsolescence.

Anyone can add information to a profile.

What happens if I create a profile after signing up? [top]
If you create a profile, then that profile is automatically added to your tracklist. Once you have created the profile, be sure to share it with your friends so that they will come and add high-quality content to it.

How do I manage my email settings? [top]
You can manage your user account's email settings by clicking Settings and then clicking the Notifications link. There are several user account related settings available there and if you would like to edit email settings related to tracked profiles, you can click on the Tracked Profiles links on that page. You can also use the links in emails that you get from Socialprofile to get to these pages.

How can I become a Premium Member? [top]
You can become a Premium Member by clicking here or by clicking the Premium Member link in the header of the site or by buying Premium Membership on the page that you are forwarded to after trying to access premium content. You can pay for membership via any major credit card.

How much does it cost to be a Premium Member? [top]
The cost of being a Premium Member is laid out on the Premium Benefits page that is linked to in the header. All membership terms are billed upfront and renew automatically when the membership term lapses. You can cancel your membership by clicking here and following the instructions.

How do I cancel my Premium Membership? [top]
By cancelling your Premium Membership, your subscription will not automatically renew. You will be able to enjoy Membership Benefits throughout your current Membership Term, however, your Membership Benefits will lapse at the end of your current term. This means that you will no longer be able to see your profile views. If you are sure you want to cancel, then you may do so by clicking here and following the instructions.

Why do captcha codes keep popping up? [top]
Captcha codes are used throughout Socialprofile to prevent automated posts, ratings, profiles, and users from being added to the site. If captchas were not used, then you would see an endless array of content added by spammers or people trying to game the rankings of particular content items.

Using captcha codes allows us to continue to provide you the most relevant and accurate content, thereby providing you with the best experience possible using our site.

Can I see the author of an anonymous post? [top]
It is not possible to discover the identity of the author of an anonymous content item.
